Non-destructive testing
or NDT is a group of analyzing techniques used in science and industry to
evaluate properties of a material, a component or a system. The significant
aspect of this analyzing technique is it does not cause any damage to the
sample, which is being tested. NDT is also referred to as Nondestructive examination
(NDE), Nondestructive inspection (NDI), and Nondestructive evaluation (NDE)
across the industry. As NDT does not alter the sample permanently while testing
it, this approach is exclusively relevant to both the corporate and education
sectors. The technique proves helpful in saving both money and time in product
evaluation, research as well as troubleshooting.
Common strategies to
conduct the specialized test include ultrasonic sound, magnetic particles,
radiographic, remote visual inspection (RVI) liquid penetrant, eddy-current
testing and low coherence inter ferometry. Nondestructive testing is widely
applied in various sectors like mechanical engineering, forensic engineering,
petroleum industry, civil engineering, systems engineering, aeronautical
engineering, and medical sciences and even across the domain of art and
humanities.
There are several
competent players across Singapore and Malaysia belt providing waterproofing
& non-destructive test. These proficient players are
catering to an extensive range of industrial sectors and helping those
businesses attaining higher levels of growth and prosperity. Interestingly,
nondestructive testing methods rely upon sound waves, electromagnetic radiation
and other inherent properties of matters. The components of a sample can be analyzed
using penetrating radiation like X-rays, neutrons and terahertz radiation. While
conducting ultrasonic testing, sound waves are used. On the other hand, to
detect the contrast between a defective sample and its authentic counterpart
with the naked eye, certain liquids are used to penetrate the fatigue cracks. Liquid
penetrant techniques often involve application of dyes, fluorescent and non
fluorescent apart from other testing agents. Businesses involved in this line
of service require investing heavily on maintaining state-of-the-art
laboratories. Professionals working in this specialized sector include
scientists, engineers and other highly trained individuals.
